Head of Technology, CIMMUL
Scientific Director, GIREF
Biography
Dr. Jean Deteix completed his PhD in shape optimization at the Université de Montréal. As a postdoctoral fellow and research associate at Université Laval's Groupe interdisciplinaire de Recherche en Éléments Finis (GIREF), he acquired expertise in high-performance computing and finite element software development. Now a full professor at Université Laval, his research focuses on high-performance numerical methods for multiphysical phenomena: contact phenomena, fluid-structure interaction, shape optimization, phase change and non-Newtonian fluids. He is mainly interested in rigorous mathematical approaches in the context of numerical simulation for industrial purposes. Since 2019, he has been in charge of coordinating GIREF activities and is responsible for the partnership with the Michelin tire company.
